Like the old song of Louis Armstrong so vividly describes, we live in a wonderful world. For me the world is a place where there is always something to discover. Whether it is a walk in the woods close to your home, or traveling the world to visit other countries. I appreciate each moment and try to enjoy life the fullest.
But before I go any further, let me shortly introduce myself to you. I am Wendy, Dutch, but currently living the ‘expat life’ in Denver, CO. It started in 2013, when my husband and I decided to quit our jobs and leave for a long sailing trip in Scandinavia. During this trip we were exploring new towns and unfamiliar places. And best of all, we ended up at some amazing remote places, where it was just the two of us! The life at sea doesn’t always come easy, but you learn to appreciate new things. Most important of all, traveling makes me rich!
After this trip we fell from one adventure into the other as we got the chance to move abroad and live in Switzerland. After living here for about 2.5 years and exploring a lot of Europe, we are currently settling in in Denver, Colorado in the US. A complete new adventure has started for us, with lots of things to discover.
What is Wenabroad all about?
On this blog I will share some practical advice on how to make most of your life abroad! Whether this is by traveling to discover more of this planet or by moving abroad. If you like to be active are in exploring mode and want to know what is out there besides your 9 to 5 job, this is the place to be!

If you look into doing some exploring for yourself, I can highly recommend you to do so! And most of all, I’d love to help! From our sailing trip onward, I have been writing down our adventures. Via this blog I would like to share the places that left me my best traveling memories. I describe the places we visited and my personal recommendations. I want to help you, to create your own wonderful travel memories.
As I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words I’d love to take as many beautiful pictures of my trips, as my memory card can carry. To show you all the beautiful spots that are out there, waiting to be discovered by you. By the way, I’ve taken them all with my Iphone or my Nikon 3300D.
